Friederich Kupzog says: “Innovation arises where different experiences, ideas and perspectives come together. It is important to me to actively support gender and diversity initiatives at AIT and to act as a ‘male ally’.” AIT aims to create an environment in which all staff members can realize their potential, regardless of gender, origin, age, sexual identity, disability, religion or social background. Our goal is to create a working culture in which equal opportunities and diversity are understood and practiced as an asset.
The Gender & Diversity Mentor acts as an ambassador and facilitator for gender and diversity issues at AIT and helps to create a working culture in which diversity is embraced as an asset. The Gender & Diversity Mentor actively promotes gender equality at AIT and supports the implementation of planned gender and diversity initiatives.
This role was held until May 2026 by Manfred Tscheligi, Head of Center for Technology Experience. “It has been a pleasure for me, as Gender Mentor, to contribute to the further development of the ‘Gender & Diversity’ agenda at AIT over the past few years. We are also engaged in gender-sensitive and inclusive technology development within our Social Experience research area,” emphasises Manfred Tscheligi.
Managing Director Brigitte Bach says: “I would like to thank Manfred Tscheligi, Friederich Kupzog and all colleagues who have contributed to the topic of gender and diversity at AIT and have shown such diverse commitment to date.”
Diversity is a central component of AIT’s corporate culture and strengthens our position as an Ingenious Partner for industry and the public sector. More information here: https://www.ait.ac.at/en/career/diversity
