On 16 and 17 September 2026, the Austrian Armed Forces’ ICT Security Conference 2026 took place at the Design Centre Linz. The event is one of the key gatherings of the Austrian cyber security community and brings together experts from public administration, the Austrian Armed Forces, industry, research and academia.
The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology was once again represented this year with its own exhibition stand and several experts from the Centre for Digital Safety & Security. Philipp-Sebastian Vogt, Matthias Eckhart, Manuel Kern and Sebastian Ramacher contributed their expertise to the conference programme and provided insights into current research and technological developments in the field of cyber security.
Another key thematic focus was the issue of disinformation: Ross King and Martin Boyer presented AIT’s expertise in this field of research and demonstrated how technological approaches can help to detect disinformation and better understand its spread and impact. This addressed not only technical cyber threats but also the growing importance of information security and digital resilience.
In addition to the presentations in the conference programme, the AIT exhibition stand served as a central hub for professional exchange. Visitors were able to find out on the spot about AIT’s current research activities, projects and technological solutions, and engage directly with the experts.
The focus was on innovative approaches to cyber security, digital resilience, tackling disinformation and protecting modern digital infrastructures. The exhibition stand thus also provided an important platform for dialogue with representatives from the Austrian Armed Forces, the public sector, industry and research, as well as for initiating new collaborations.
Through its presence at the ICT Security Conference 2026, the AIT underlined its role as a key Austrian research and technology partner for the development of secure and resilient digital systems.
