ComForEn 2027 will take place on 19 and 20 January 2027 in Vienna and is the leading conference for information and communication technology (ICT) and interoperability in the energy sector. It is jointly organised by the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and the OVE Austrian Electrotechnical Association, and supported by the technology platform Smart Grids Austria.
Now in its 14th edition, ComForEn is focusing on the smart interconnection of energy systems. Under the overarching theme ‘Smart System Integration: Making Flexibilities Scalable through ICT’, experts will discuss how ICT and interoperable solutions can help to integrate new technologies across sectors and enable the transition to a climate-neutral energy system. Participants will gain insights into current developments, innovative technologies and practical examples of application. How to get involved
Call for papers and best practices: Researchers, developers and practitioners are invited to submit contributions on the conference’s key themes. The deadline for submissions is 25 September 2026. Selected papers will be included in the conference programme.
