Lithium-ion batteries are ubiquitous - in smartphones, laptops and e-bikes. But time and again they cause fires, often due to improper use or disposal. The ORF program Eco focused on this risk and visited the battery test laboratory of the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna, where ORF reporter Ines Ottenschläger spoke with AIT expert Marcus Jahn about fire hazards and safety solutions.
