Structures with optimized force distributions reduce the material expenditure for the fulfilment of structure and thus conserve our resources. Form Finding Structures, which transfer the acting forces primarily via tension and compression, can make a relevant contribution to this and lead to architecturally attractive buildings. The webinar shows the potential of this approach to structural development.
In this webinar, new methods and approaches are presented on how material and resources and thus CO2 can be saved already in the planning phase.
The speaker, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Roman Kemmler, Professor of Engineering Mechanics and Structural Analysis and Prodean at Konstanz University of Applied Sciences, has worked internationally on numerous stadium and bridge constructions in addition to his teaching activities and is now a partner in the up-and-coming company iSEA Tec GmbH, Friedrichshafen, Germany.
The lecture will be given in German on 21 April from 16:00-17:00 and is organized by the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) Austria by Dr. Alois Vorwagner (AIT Structural Dynamics Expert, Deputy Chair IABSE Austria), Prof. Alfred Strauss (BOKU, Chair IABSE Austria) and Dr. Roman Geier (Schimetta Consult, Deputy Chair IABSE Austria). Participation is free of charge, please register and sign up at
