The time will soon be here: on 6 and 7 May 2025, dHealth 2025 will open its doors in the Apothekertrakt of Schönbrunn Palace and once again transform Vienna into a hotspot for digital health. Led by the two conference chairs Priv.-Doz. DI Dr. Günter Schreier (AIT Austrian Institute of Technology) and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ruth Ladenstein, participants can expect a varied programme with top-class international keynotes, practical sessions and intensive discussions on current challenges and opportunities in digital healthcare.
A special highlight is the keynote speech ‘Digital Humanism - About AI and Digitalisation’ by Prof. Dr Hannes Werthner from the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien). The extensive programme includes two practice-oriented user tracks (tracks 1 and 2) as well as a scientific track (track 3), in which current research results in the field of digital health will be presented.

In the ‘Cybersecurity in Healthcare’ session, experts will discuss how secure digital infrastructures and comprehensive data protection can be guaranteed in the healthcare sector. After the opening ceremony, the first day of the conference will feature in-depth discussions on topics such as digital health as a business model, led by Professor Dr Herwig Ostermann, Managing Director of Gesundheit Österreich GmbH, current developments at ELGA, presented by Dr Stefan Sabutsch, Managing Director of ELGA GmbH, and an insight and outlook on AI in Austria by Professor Dr Siegfried Meryn, healthcare expert and Chairman of the ORF Health Advisory Board. The programme also includes a session on health portals in Austria, moderated by Dr Michael Binder, Medical Director (CMO) of the Vienna Health Network.
On the second day of the conference, participants can look forward to a session on ‘EHDS - Stakeholder Expectations’, organised by Gesundheit Österreich GmbH and AUVA. Expectations, strategic challenges and potentials around the European Health Data Space will be discussed. In addition, a session organised by the Austrian Medical Association on ‘Digital Twins & Patient Journey’ will show how digital twins can make medical processes more efficient and improve the quality of patient care.
The topic of EHDS will also be explored in greater depth with a focus on ‘Privacy-Preserving Secondary Use’ by UAS Professor Stefan Sauermann, Vice Rector and Head of the Master Medical Engineering & eHealth programme at UAS Technikum Wien. At the same time, Franz Jürgen Öller, MBA MPH, Commercial Director of Gesundheit Burgenland, will shed light on the topic of ‘AI in hospitals’. Before the closing session, LISAVIENNA and HTS will present the topic ‘Digital Health Start-ups’ and UMIT Tirol together with Telbiomed the topic ‘Oncology & Digital Health’.
The content programme will be rounded off by the traditional networking event at the Viennese Heurigen ‘10er Marie’, which offers the ideal opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues, industry representatives and decision-makers in a relaxed atmosphere.
