Bernhard Schrenk, photonics expert at the AIT Center for Digital Safety & Security, has been appointed Associate Editor of the Journal of Lightwave Technology (JLT). The internationally renowned journal is jointly published by IEEE and Optica Publishing Group and is one of the leading scientific publications in the fields of optical communications, photonics, and guided-wave technologies.
In his new role, Bernhard Schrenk will contribute to the scientific quality and technical direction of the journal. As Associate Editor, he will oversee and coordinate the peer-review process for submitted research papers, select appropriate reviewers, evaluate manuscripts and reviews with regard to their scientific and technical merit, and make recommendations on publication decisions. Associate Editors thus play an important role in maintaining the journal’s high scientific standards.
The appointment underlines Schrenk’s international standing and expertise in optical communication and photonic technologies. He has previously served on the Programme Committees of OFC (Optical Fiber Communication Conference) and ECOC (European Conference on Optical Communication), two of the world’s leading conferences in optical telecom and datacom technologies, contributing to the evaluation and selection of cutting-edge research in the field.
With his new role at the Journal of Lightwave Technology, Bernhard Schrenk will now contribute his scientific expertise to one of the most influential international publication venues in his field. At the same time, his appointment further strengthens the international visibility of AIT research in photonics and optical communications.
