From October 7 to 9, 2025, the joint exhibition stand (number 7-316 1&2, Hall 7) at Europe's largest IT security trade fair will be themed “Sharing Innovation – Disruptive High-Tech Made in Austria”: IT specialist X-Net and Austria's largest applied research institution, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, will present state-of-the-art product innovations developed jointly.
Fake Shop Detector exposes online fraud
Fake shops on the internet are becoming more numerous and at the same time more difficult to detect. The Fake Shop Detector, developed by AIT in close cooperation with the Austrian Institute for Applied Telecommunications (ÖIAT) and the Austrian IT specialist X-Net, offers support in tracking down online fraudsters. The Fake Shop Detector uses artificial intelligence to check unknown online shops in real time for more than 21,000 characteristics. Above all, permanent quality control of the AI by humans is an inherent part of the AI-based solution. If a shop is suspicious, the Detector warns consumers and protects them preventively against online fraud. This success led to a partnership between AIT and the Bavarian Ministry of Justice to tailor the successful Fake Shop Detector to the specific requirements of law enforcement agencies and further develop it for their investigative work. In addition, the tool has won several awards (eAward 2023, State Prize for Digitalization 2024, Constantinus Award 2024, KSÖ Security Prize 2024) and was most recently the Austrian winner among 35 international cybersecurity products tested for their effectiveness against fake shops by the independent system testing expert AV-Comparatives. The development of the Fake Shop Detector is funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance as part of the KIRAS security research program.

European technology leader for highly secure communication through quantum encryption
As one of Europe's leading trade fairs for IT security, it-sa offers the ideal platform for discussing current developments and challenges in the field of cybersecurity. The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology has been developing technologies for highly secure communication systems for 20 years and now offers specialist expertise and quantum encryption technology for terrestrial and satellite-based communication infrastructures. In this field, the Austrian security research program KIRAS has made a significant contribution to the development of leading security solutions. AIT plays a central role in all major national and European research projects, such as the Austrian flagship project QCI-CAT, which addresses the establishment of a national and Europe-wide quantum communication network. At it-sa 2025, AIT will show how quantum-secure communication is already paving the way for the key technologies of the future and, together with project partners X-Net and Cancom, will present a live demonstration of quantum key distribution (QKD) for secure communication in the quantum age. At the center of the presentation, visitors will experience a quantum-secure video chat protected by QKD and post-quantum cryptography (PQC), gaining insights into the modern key management system (KMS) for QKD networks and a variety of related innovative QKD security applications.

ThreatGet – Cyber Security by Design for modern and secure IT systems
Today, AIT is considered the European Cyber Security Competence Center. With the award-winning ThreatGet security tool, which is based on artificial intelligence, it is possible to analyze the entire system architecture of security-critical applications, such as networked vehicles. An automated analysis of potential system risks and attack paths can be easily performed right from the start of system development. This cyber security by design tool is a must-have for industries with security-critical infrastructure that are required by regulatory guidelines to have an appropriate cyber security management system in place. ThreatGet is available to consulting companies as part of a partner program for risk management consulting for highly secure IT and electronic systems. ThreatGet was recently nominated for the Austrian State Prize for Consulting 2022 in the category “Management Consulting and IT” and received the Constantinus Award in 2021 in the category “Digitization/Internet of Things.”

AIT Cyber Range – Modern education and training for the highly secure operation of IT and OT systems
With the AIT Cyber Range, AIT has developed a state-of-the-art simulation platform that enables education and training in the field of cyber security with practical use cases for IT and OT systems, thereby promoting the development of cyber security skills across a broad spectrum. Based on this expertise, AIT is the world's first IAEA Collaborating Centre in the field of cyber security for nuclear safety in IAEA member states. In addition, AIT works with the World Institute for Nuclear Security (WINS) and the Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-proliferation (VCDNP) to jointly improve capacity building in the field of cyber security and AI worldwide. Since 2017, AIT has also been conducting the annual national cyber security exercise in cooperation with the Competence Center for Secure Austria (KSÖ), in which Austrian representatives of critical infrastructures, industry, and authorities continuously develop their skills to ensure cyber security resilience at the national level.

SEC3 – Secure Cloud Connecting System
Secure IoT devices form the basis for the digitalization of Industry 4.0. A single successfully attacked IoT device can mutate into an attack vector for all devices connected to the cloud. The “Security by Isolation” (SBI) model from the Austrian research project IoT4CPS, coordinated by AIT, represents such a solution and, with the Sec³ Secure Cloud Connecting System based on it, ensures that uncontrolled access to data is impossible at any time. The system was further developed by X-Net Technologies and offers maximum security for machines and IoT devices, quick initial installation, configurations via the company's own Sec³ Cloud, coordination of remote maintenance of its components via the company's own Sec³ Hubs, and state-of-the-art encryption of connections with minimal time expenditure. Sec³ combines the advantages of IoT Edge Box, Remote Service Box, and Firewall and offers the option of backup and restore. It meets the highest security requirements and is developed and manufactured in Europe. Lisec Holding GmbH was a key contributor to product development and the first user from industry.

X5 Data Carrier Copying System
X5 Data Carrier Copying System
X5 is the only system for producing storage media that can simultaneously and individually record SSD, USB, CF, MicroSD, etc. Just-in-time copying processes ensure that the right storage media are reliably available at the right time and in the right place. The X⁵ copying systems are designed to support customer-specific workflows and processes. The spectrum ranges from the automatic recording of storage media with individual product-specific data to just-in-time production and simple copying processes. When implementing a copying process, the entire production workflow is taken into account and adapted to individual requirements. In addition to writing and verifying data on data carriers, encryption mechanisms, authentication processes, and communication security are also taken into account. This makes the X⁵ system suitable for use worldwide. The combination of software and hardware components also allows for individual security strategies throughout the entire life cycle of a product.
RX400 – Highly secure USB-based high-speed data carrier copying system
The RX400 – a USB-based data carrier copying system – represents the next step in the evolution of data storage and transfer using CD solutions and picks up where cloud solutions reach their limits: secure and fast storage of sensitive and, above all, large amounts of data, such as those used in the medical field (medical data such as MRIs, radiology) and forensics (preservation of evidence). Depending on the software version and application, commercially available or dedicated, highly secure, and write-protected USB sticks are used. In addition, security features such as WORM functionality (write once, read many) are available for USB sticks, preventing unwanted data from being written to, modified, or deleted from the USB stick. The compact RX400 was developed by X-Net and is equally easy to set up and operate for system integrators, healthcare providers, hospitals, and users from other industries.
We look forward to seeing you at our booth, number 7-316 1&2 in Hall 7.
