The aim of the tests is to determine the sound power level of machines. These are methods based on the measurement of the sound pressure level on an enveloping surface, measurements of the sound intensity by means of a sound intensity probe and measurements of the sound pressure level in a reverberation chamber. The method group also includes the measurement of the reverberation time of rooms, which is decisive for determining the sound power levels for most of the methods specified.
