Gender Equality

UN Internationale Frauentage - 2024

The International Day of Women & Girls in Science on February 11th and International Women's Day on March 8th, initiated by the United Nations, are a welcome opportunity for us every year to address the importance of gender equality in science and research.

Discussion Round: “FOCUS – GENDER EQUALITY – EMPOWERMENT“

Gender Equality at AIT

A rich mix of gender perspectives plays an integral role in our success as Austria's largest Research and Technology Organisation. For that reason, AIT works continuously to achieve a balanced ratio of women to men, across career models, career paths and phases of life.

This starts with gender-neutral and inclusive language, especially in the recruiting process. We encourage female applicants and take part in various initiatives designed to motivate young girls to embark on careers in science. AIT also offers dedicated internships to young female students and supports the formation of internal and external women's networks.

Every single person at AIT contributes to creating an equal and inclusive work environment. We support this endeavour by providing gender & inclusion training and promoting a positive feedback culture. Our modern parental leave management system and flexible work options enable both female and male to better combine parenting with their careers.

All gender initiatives are implemented and monitored by a dedicated gender task force.
