Biometrics Institute Congress 2019

Okt 29-30
This year’s Congress will be held on the 29-30 October as part of our Biometrics Week, running from 28-31 October.

We live in an era where laws and regulations are often unable to stay abreast of technology change and the business models based on that change. The Biometrics Institute Congress has established itself as the meeting place for the international biometrics community to gather annually in London. It provides an independent platform for off-the-record discussion among the institute’s global multi-stakeholder community - meet senior decision makers in government, industry, academia and privacy advocates and regulators.

In 2018, around 300 representatives from over 30 nations came to the Congress. This is a must-attend week of events, organised by the independent, impartial and international Biometrics Institute. Either side of the two days of this year's Congress we’re bringing you unmissable workshops and events run by industry-leading biometrics experts. These make up what is now recognised as the official Biometrics Week, run by the Biometrics Institute – your industry body. Every one of these events has been meticulously planned to help you and the rest of the industry put good practices for biometrics into use. Also featuring a targeted exhibition floor with twenty exhibitors from our biometrics supplier community.

AIT presents biometric sensor technology

AIT takes part as exhibitior and speaker - in recent years AIT has successfully adopted a leading European role in the field of modern IT-based border controls and property protection. In recent years, all major EU initiatives in this context have been led and driven by AIT. Based on this, the experts are developing novel solutions and prototypes for the identification of individuals on the move. Iingenious algorithms and embedded hard- and software solutions are combined for realizing new access control solutions, ranging from low to high security applications and requirements. The experts are implementing contactless biometric solutions in mobile devices to ease the work of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) or other safeguards. The new approach for capturing fingerprints with a mobile device in a contactless way enhances the security, speeds up the border control process and makes biometric verification less cumbersome and far more hygienic to individuals and officials.
