From May 29th to June 2nd 2017 the 4th World Landslide Forum was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. AIT was represented by Philip Leopold (Energy/ERT) who gave a well-received talk about the joint work with the Chinese Geology Survey (CGS) in Gansu Province (China). Visit of a Chinese top-ranking ministry delegation at AIT`s Center for Energy

In the framework of this forum a Chinese top ranking delegation of the Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR) visited AIT`s Center for Energy  in Vienna. The delegation was led by Mr. Guan Feng jun., Director of the Department of Geological Environment of MLR and Yin Yueping, Deputy-Director of the China Institute of Geo-Environment Monitoring and President of the International Consortium on Landslides. It was discussed, that the ongoing cooperation between CGS and AIT was already very successful and resulted in mutual visits and an exchange of know-how and knowledge. The visitors agreed that Austrian technology in the field of prevention against landslides does indeed work very well under the framework conditions in China. With an even stronger involvement of MLR this cooperation can be expanded, leading to joint projects to prevent natural hazards in several provinces of China.
