AIT at Ars Electronica 2015

14.09.2015
AIT presented innovations to an international audience from 3. to 7.9. in "Postcity", Linz/Austria

For the first time the AIT Digital Safety & Security Department was part of this years Ars Electronica. The AIT booth visualized a selection of R&D topics currently developed at AIT including telemonitoring technologies as an important component of the health care system of the future as well as the winner project of the NÖ Zukunftspreis "Grafenwörth bewegt" as well as the smallest 3D scanner in the world, which enables contactless scanning of teeth and is already marketed worldwide via GC Dental, a global manufacturer of medical devices for the dental sector. These technologies were presented based on video installations. Furthermore Anton Dunzendorfer, Head of Business Unit Assistive Healtcare Information Technology, participated in a workshop on the topic “Publicy – the transformation of private and public“. For more details and workshop results please contact Mr. Dunzendorfer.

In context of it´s research around our digital heritage AIT additionally presented an interactive video installation called "CultureCam". CultureCam is a prototype that enables users to navigate in a playful way, through gestures and based on the search for similarities through online digital content of the Europeana portal. Europeana is a virtual collection of digital content from more than 3,000 European museums, archives, libraries and audiovisual collections. For more information see www.culturecam.eu.

The Ars Electronica festival management had chosen an integration of AIT themes because the above-mentioned subject areas fit ideally in the overall exhibition concept "habitats of the future".
