07.03.2017
Brigitte Bach as Chair of the EU Advisory Group on Energy

During the workshop of the EU Advisory Group on Energy on February 16, 2017 in Vienna energy experts discussed how to transform a quarter or a city district towards massive GHG reduction and more sustainability including top down and bottom up approaches. The discussion reflected research settings in the context of energy transformation, and embraced the full policy and decision cycle from policy, energy planning and infrastructure to a stronger role for citizens and the interrelations of all these layers.

In these settings Living Labs will play an increasing role to understand, develop and empower the role of citizens. The discussion reflected relevant research content and new approaches to develop and implement interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research with high impact.

The Advisory Group on Energy (H2020 AGE) is one of the Commission’s Expert Groups with 28 experts assisting the Commission in the preparation of legislative proposals and policy initiatives, and giving strategic input for the work programmes in energy research. Brigitte Bach, Head of Center for Energy has be re-elected as chair in March 2016.
