In this talk, we will present recent work on cyber-security analysis of some of these applications. In particular, we will discuss cyber-attacks and defense in the SE and AGC systems. We will also discuss cyber-secure control and monitoring which involves phasor measurement units (PMUs) and dynamical models. Such systems are believed to become integral parts in future Smart Grids, and their secure and stable operation will be of utmost importance.
