Tulln climate chambers

The AIT‘s Tulln climate chambers are a state-of-the-art research infrastructure for analysing the effects of environmental conditions on crops. They enable the precise simulation of various climatic stress factors, including drought, heat, flooding and cold, to develop solutions for adapting agriculture to climate change. 

Using advanced multispectral sensor technology, imaging systems and AI-supported analyses, parameters such as plant growth, nutrient uptake and resistance to environmental stress can be recorded and evaluated in detail. This enables the identification of resistant plant varieties that deliver high yields even under extreme environmental conditions, the optimisation of agricultural cultivation methods for more efficient use of resources and the development of new agronomic strategies that promote sustainable and climate-resilient production systems. 

The climate chambers are a central platform for research and industry partners working to improve plant breeding as well as sustainable cultivation and yield assurance.
