In the IKKRITI project, a governance model for decision-makers in the field of critical infrastructure is being developed. "We analyse the effects of digitalisation on critical infrastructures by integrating technology and trend monitoring, scenarios and technology assessment," says project manager Eva Buchinger from the Center for Innovation Systems & Policy. Afterwards, options for action will be explored and piloted with the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs and the Federal Ministry of Defence using the examples of "ID Austria" and "WarnApps". This makes it possible to prioritise technologies and trends in terms of security-strategic controllability and to systematically explain their opportunities, risks and challenges.
Recently, the project was also presented as an Austrian best practice at the EU-wide Foresight Network of the European Commission by the BKA and met with great interest.
IKKRITI is funded by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Regions and Tourism (BMLRT) as part of the KIRAS programme and is managed by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). (Duration 2020-2022)
