13.01.2016
Dynamic Crowd Solutions for South America

From 8th to 11th November 2015, the annual Congress and General Assembly of ALAMYS took place in Lima, Peru. ALAMYS (Asociación Latinoamericana de Metros y Subterráneos) is the association of Latin America’s and Iberia’s metro operators. It is the association’s goal to enhance the exchange of experiences and knowledge amongst the members and to promote the successful development and implementation of rail-bound transportation systems.

Since beginning of 2015 the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology is Adherent Member of ALAMYS and was represented at the annual general assembly of ALAMYS by Christian Kogler, Engineer, and Silvia Azesberger, Business Development, in the Business Unit Dynamic Transportation Systems. On this occasion Silvia Azesberger presented the services of the departments Energy, Health & Environment, Digital Safety and Security as well as Mobility in the area of urban rail-bound transport.

Amongst other topics the presentation focused on AIT’s services in the area of Dynamic Crowd Solutions:

  • Above all AIT’s approach considers the human factor for a safe, efficient and user-friendly design of infrastructures and vehicle layouts.
  • AIT’s services focus on the prediction and analysis of passenger flows in highly frequented infrastructures by means of evaluation/investigation of critical/emerging densities, frequency measurement, used main paths and points of conflict.
  • With AIT’s tools many different scenarios can be simulated in advance as the time- and cost-saving basis for an efficient planning and optimization.
