VISION

The world's leading trade fair VISION is the meeting place for the machine-vision industry and an important anchor point for a worldwide audience. International companies present their latest innovations and developments in machine-vision here. 2024 the AIT Center for Vision, Automation & Control (VAC) will participate again.

VAC @ VISION 2022

Our experts will present the following innovations at our AIT booth: 8C50 (Hall 8):

xposure:photometry  |  ICI:microscopy  |   TinyScan360°  |   ICI:inspect

xposure:photometry – High Speed Photometry

Fast Inline 2D & 3D Surface Scanner

The innovative photometric stereo imaging method is suitable for use in industrial quality control as well as for the inspection of infrastructure - such as rails. The system consists of the AIT xposure high-speed line scan camera, AIT xposure:flash for fast illumination sequences with different illumination directions, and customized algorithms in an FPGA module for high-speed image processing.

ICI:microscopy - Inline Computational Imaging Microscopy

Inline 2D & 3D Microscopy

Using a patented microscope optics and a special dome illumination system, the Inline Computational Imaging (ICI) algorithms from ICI:inspect can be applied to microscopic inspection tasks. Surface inspections, requiring extreme resolutions of several micrometers, can be solved using this technology. Compared to other microscopic 3D acquisition systems, ICI:microscopy stands out with its acquisition speed. With that our technique is extremely useful whenever a fast high-resolution 2D and 3D acquisition of moving objects is required.

TinyScan360° – Miniaturized 3D Sensor

The revolutionary AIT TinyScan360° with a diameter of 3 mm is particularly suitable for the measurement, visualization and modeling of small objects such as pipes and boreholes with a diameter > 5 mm. The scalable and innovative combination of an optical high-contrast projector and a camera enables a reliable, fast and detailed 3D reconstruction of the scene - regardless of the geometry and material property (glossy, dark, reflective).

ICI:inspect - Inline Computational Imaging

Inline 2D & 3D Inspection

Inline Computational Imaging (ICI) is an award-winning AIT technology for simultaneous 2D and 3D inline inspection. ICI combines the advantages of light field and photometry. Due to its low system complexity and extensive independence of both, reflection properties and surface structures of the object, as well as its high-performance image processing, the technology has proven itself especially in challenging inspection tasks.
