Main Research: Effective policies & new urban governance


Gudrun Haindlmaier holds a master’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in geography (University of Vienna). Her PhD-work in the field of spatial planning at the Vienna University of Technology dealt with the strategic positioning of cities and city rankings as instruments between government and governance.
Recently, her main research focus is put on urban innovation systems, smart cities, sustainable urban and regional development as well as participation and new urban governance.
