Career
Field: 3D Vision and Modelling
Main Research: Photogrammetry, Laserscanning, Computer Vision, Robotics
Experience:
Philipp Glira studied Geodesy and Geoinformation at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), where he also obtained his PhD (with honours) in 2018. He wrote his PhD thesis at the Photogrammetry Research Group within the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation of the TU Wien under the supervision of Prof. Norbert Pfeifer.
His main research interests are:
- parameter estimation by least squares adjustments
- sensor calibration, e.g. of cameras, laser scanners, or GNSS/IMU-systems
- point cloud orientation: optimization of relative orientation (registration) and absolute orientation (georeference)
- 2008-2012: Project assistant
TU Wien / Austria - 2012-2016: PhD Student
TU Wien / Austria - 2016-2018: Research Scientist
Siemens AG Vienna / Austria - 2019-: Research Scientist
AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH / Austria
- 2014: Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Award at EGU conference
- 2016: Hansa Luftbild Preis
