Experience:

Manfred Paier is a trained physicist (Mag.rer.nat; University of Graz, Austria). Following studies in energy economics (University of Technology, Vienna), he joined the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in 1996. Since then he has been working as a Scientist in technology studies, economics of innovation as well as innovation policy. His fields of expertise are the dynamics of socio-technical systems, agent-based modelling, spatial statistics, innovation networks, and policy evaluation. He has extensive experience in conducting and leading international research projects, international scientific conferences, as well as in policy consulting at regional, national and European levels. Moreover, he supervised several PhD and Master students in innovation economics within in a graduate training program jointly conducted by AIT and several Austrian universities.
