Field: Contextual Experience
Main Research: Human-Computer Interaction for Security, Privacy and Trust; Persuasive Technology; Gamification/Digital Games; Technology Acceptance
I work at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction for Security, Privacy and Trust, Persuasive Technology, Gamification/Digital Games and Technology Acceptance. I deal with the question how users of interactive systems can be persuaded to behave securely and safeguard their personal digital Information and how these systems can be designed in a way that users accept them. My special focus is on user research and the question how users perceive and understand aspects of security, privacy and trust and how that knowledge can be used to improve technology. Furthermore, I use gamification and digital games in broad contexts to enhance quality of life.
I have extensive experience in the design and evaluation of interactive systems such as privacy-enhancing technologies in different areas, such as smart homes or the workplace.
