03.03.2016
Scientists of the Business Unit RTI Policy analyzed and visualized the SCN’s networks of partners; Head of Department Josef Fröhlich took part in a panel discussion.

The Austrian Science Center Network (SCN) was founded ten years ago to ensure unbiased access to science and technology for everyone. Throughout the years the SCN became an important player within the knowledge and innovation system. From 46 organizations and individuals in 2006, the SCN grew to a network with now more than 160 partners.

To depict ten years of networking effort, Barbara Heller-Schuh, Martina Dünser and Maria-Elisabeth Züger, Scientists at the Innovation Systems Department, analyzed and visualized the contact and cooperation networks of partners of the SCN. The results were published in a special issue of the Wiener Zeitung on January 30th 2016.

On January 28th the SCN celebrated its 10th anniversary with renowned guests, among them Federal President Heinz Fischer, and an entertaining program: After a keynote by Catherine Franche (Executive Director ECSITE), Executive Manager Barbara Streicher and Kathrin Unterleitner gave a summary of ten years SCN. Afterwards a panel discussion with Josef Fröhlich (AIT), Wolfgang Haidinger (IV) and Ümit Mares-Altinok (Kultur und Gut) provided insights in working methods of the Science Center Network and explored potentials from a societal, political and economic point of view.
