Photovoltaics - Outdoor Spectral Measurement Workshop

07.01.2016

Increasing installation numbers of photovoltaic facilities drive the need for more accurate knowledge of real electric energy yield and potential electric energy yield. This is only possible by means of better understanding of impact of weather and climate. Spectrally resolved measurement of solar irradiance is an important tool for gaining higher precision of radiative yield.

The experts of Photovoltaic Systems were inviting for the 4th time to a winter workshop on spectrally resolved radiation measurement on December, 11th 2015 at the AIT in Vienna, chaired my Marcus Rennhofer (AIT). The meeting is pairing to the ISRC summer measurement campaign 2015 of ESTI-JRC for net-working, dissemination of results and planning of ISRC2016. Attendants of ten international leading expert groups joined the workshop: AIT Energy (AT), I-MED (AT), SUPSI-ISAAC (CH), University of Cyprus (CYP), PI-Berlin (DE), PV-Lab Potsdam (DE), ESTI-JRC (IT), University of Rome (IT), RSE (IT), CREST (UK).

In the workshop of 2015 the focus was on results of the ISRC-2015, 3-D modelling of atmospheric radiation and means of harmonization of measurement and calibration strategies. Further, current changes in the IEC-60904-9 were presented by members of the international standardization group.
