Great Minds. 3 Minutes. This is the slogan of the Falling Walls Lab 2014 in Berlin. The preliminary decision for Austrian scientists to participate in the conference took place in Vienna. In short talks young professionals competed for best presentation. The winner will travel to the finale in Berlin and compete against other 100 great minds from all over the world. And will be awarded a ticket for the main conference, where some of the world´s most prominent scientists present their breakthroughs research.
Teresa Berninger, PhD student at AIT, convinced the jury with her presentation on developing small capsules designed to get growth-promoting bacteria into agricultural crops. Third place went to Johana Luna (both H&E Deparment).
The jury included e.g. Renee Schroeder (Scientist), Michaela Fritz, Michael Stampfer (WWTF), Peter Koren (IV).
The Falling Walls Lab Vienna was hosted by the Max. F. Perutz Laboratories, the Campus Vienna Biocenter and AIT.
