AIT experts present latest developments at international ARTEMIS conference

At the Artemis-ITEA Co-Summit in Stockholm the AIT Experts of the research group "Verification and Validation" (Safety & Security Department) presented their latest developments concerning software based workflow engines for the analysis, certification and testing of safety relevant systems. These tools are necessary for a reduction of costs and efforts within certification processes of safety relevant systems (e.g. car crash avoidance systems).

The so called WEFACT (Workflow Engine for Analysis, Certification and Test) prototype is being developed within the international ARTEMIS research project SafeCer (Safety Certification of Software-Intensive Systems with Reusable Components), funded by the EU.

About SafeCer
SafeCer is targeting increased efficiency and reduced time-to-market by composable safety certification of safety-relevant embedded systems. The industrial domains targeted are within automotive and construction equipment, avionics, and rail. SafeCer will also develop certification guidelines and a training example for other domains, thus considerably increasing its market impact.

About Artemis-ITEA Co-Summit
In the capital of Sweden – Stockholm – the sixth edition of the annual Co-summit took place from 4th to 5th December in the Scandic Infra Business Center. More than 700 participants from industry, academia, public authorities and press from all over Europe came together. The Co-summit – organised by ARTEMIS Joint Undertaking on embedded systems and ITEA, the EUREKA Cluster on software-intensive systems and services – featured international keynote speakers, a high level panel discussion and an inspiring project exhibition including speakers’ corners fuelled by the project teams themselves.
