Commissioning and maintenance of heat pumps

Classroom course

This compact refrigeration technology course is aimed at trained heating installers who mainly perform service activities (commissioning, maintenance) and provides theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of refrigeration and heat pump technology.
Heating installers who are not only involved in service activities (commissioning and maintenance) but also in the execution and/or planning of heat pump heating systems and/or customer advisory services are recommended to attend the further education course K01: Planning, installation and maintenance of heat pumps with category II certification.
By participating in this comprehensive further training* (40 teaching units) and passing the final course examination, heating installers meet the requirements for obtaining a Category II personal certificate in accordance with EU Regulation 2015/2067. An additional requirement for Category II certification is the relevant professional training (heating installer).  
After passing the examination, the following certificate can be applied for at the Federal Guild for Sanitary, Heating and Ventilation Technicians:

* Depending on the timetable, the lessons can take place on up to 6 days, e.g. partly divided into individual half days. The timetable will be announced about one week before the course starts. Changes at short notice are rare but possible.

Complete price: EUR 1.500,- excl. VAT **.

This price is only valid for the venue Vienna and includes the training, the training documents (e-learning), one exam entry as well as break drinks.
Members of the Heat Pump Association Austria as well as companies that register at least three participants for the same date will receive a discount of 10% on the above mentioned complete price. If this is the case for you, please indicate this in the "field for notification of registration" when registering for the course.

** For courses offered by other course providers (e.g. WIFI Salzburg), different prices may apply in some cases; continuing education courses, examinations and certifications may be priced separately.

The category II certificate can be applied for at the Bundesinnung für Sanitär-, Heiz- und Lüftungstechniker (Federal Guild for Sanitary, Heating and Ventilation Technicians) upon presentation of the attendance and examination confirmations. The fee for the certificate is EUR 40,- (excl. VAT).

Further information

Category II certified personnel are authorized to install, maintain, service and recover the refrigerant in systems with a charge of less than 3 kg, or less than 6 kg in hermetically sealed systems. Depending on the type of refrigerant and the design of the heat pump or refrigeration system, this corresponds to a cooling or heating capacity of up to approx. 20 kW.
According to EU Regulation 517/2014 (F-Gas Regulation), refrigerants may now only be sold to companies with a company certificate. For this company certificate, it is necessary that employees working on equipment containing these F-Gases have a personal certificate in accordance with EU Regulation 2015/2067.

New: E-learning Course

Most modules can be completed in addition or as an alternative to the classroom days in a flexible timeframe on a PC, tablet or smartphone using audio-visual multimedia lectures. Furthermore, online practice tests are available for exam preparation. The e-learning course content can be completed at any time.
