R&D Roadmap for District Heating and Cooling Technology

Development of a District Heating and Cooling Technology R&D Roadmap

District heating and cooling systems are important elements of the energy infrastructure of cities and towns in Austria. The aim of the study is to develop a district heating & cooling technology roadmap for Austria, to define a strategic research agenda including support actions and research infrastructure and to put forward towards new policy recommendations. Technological developments and research questions in the field of district heating and cooling can be determined with the help of a broad stakeholder process and support of an advisory board. The potential of technologies, processes and concepts will be defined and future technology development requirements will be evaluated by economic analysis.
