Low-temperature district heating in various Austrian regions with low heat demand density

The use of low temperature district heat will be important for the future heat supply of cities and communities. It allows the direct use of waste heat sources on low temperature level and increases the potential of other renewable energy technologies considerable. In the nationally funded project „NextGenerationHeat“ concepts for ecologically and economically optimized space heating and domestic hot water supply of passive-houses low-energy houses via district heat were developed, evaluated and demonstrated by means of dynamic grid simulation in four use cases (Vienna, Graz, Wörgl and Güssing).
