Digital Assistant for drying plants

DATA develops methods and tools for the implementation of a digital twin for smart manufacturing of high-quality laminated panels on a phenolic resin impregnation plant of the wood processing industry. The approaches pursued are based on digitised real-time process data, in particular on inline chemical-physical data provided by novel fully-integrated vibrational spectroscopy sensors and on data-driven and physical regression models. The project goal is twinning, i.e. the coupling of real objects with data, hypotheses and models. In this way, DATA creates the basis for innovative solutions for tracking relevant drying and reaction processes and the systematic directed optimisation of operations to reduce energy demand and CO2 emissions.
