Policy Lab on Public procurement promoting innovation

Since 2007 the Austrian Institute of Technology AIT supports  the Austrian Government initiative ‘Public Procurement Promoting Innovation (PPPI)’. Thereby, the AIT Policy Lab approach has been developed for the optimal design and execution of the initiative. It comprises the full policy cycle, from scientific background studies and strategic policy design to implementation support and impact monitoring. The learnings have been included in complementary PPPI policy advice on the regional level (City of Vienna) and the European level (European Commission DG GROW & DG RTD & CNECT; European Research Area and Innovation Committee ERAC) since 2013. Within the policy lab we are cooperating not only with policy makers, but also with public procurers, industry, funding and servicing agencies, statistical bureaus, and researchers.
