Prosecution and prevention of organised financial crime with virtual currencies
The project BitCrime deals with the future of virtual currency systems and its social, legal and financial implications. For the first time in the history of the monetary system, emerging peer2peer crypto currencies like Bitcoin bypass the monetary sovereignity of the state.
BitCrime aims at exploring innovative solutions for identification, prevention and reduction of organised financial crime like money laundering, with a special focus on virtual currencies.
