Digital Health Innovation Platforms

Digital health platform are technology-driven solutions that improve healthcare by offering personalized services, virtual care, remote monitoring, and easy access to health information. Our business and research unit has built a modular, open framework for the rapid development of new innovative digital health platforms. More than 20 years of experience have fed into the implementation and deployment of 3 distinct platforms:

Remote health sensing and digital biomarkers

We have developed an industry-grade modular platform Keep-In-Touch™ (KIT) for the management of chronic diseases allowing remote health sensing of chronic diseases such as hypertonia or diabetes. We offer a wide range of off-the-shelve sensors and are actively researching the inclusion of new digital biomarkers.

The KIT platform has been successfully deployed to routine care in a wide range of settings.

Platform for virtual and integrated care

Moving beyond remote health sensing our platform for virtual and integrated care allows a seamless integration of in-patient and out-patient care enabling stakeholder to effectively manage care processes across different healthcare sectors.

Privacy-preserving analytics and insights

Data is the new gold and data in health care particularly sensitive. Our European Identity Management Services (EUPID) have been used for pseudonymisation in paediatric oncology for years. We have developed a new distributed and federated node platform for secondary data use that acts as a one-stop-shop for secure secondary data use, from pseudonymisation and collaborative data analysis to feeding back results into primary care.

Standardization and interoperability

Our platforms support a wide range of health standards including ISO11073, HL7 FHIR and the Clinical Data Architecture (CDA). As HL7 members we are actively contributing to extending standards. In 2022 the first telemonitoring episodic report was awarded with the Austrian Living Standard. In 2018 we were awarded the Austrian Living Standards for the IEEE-conform data transmission of health data.

Regulatory compliance

As ISO-13485 certified business unit we develop decision-making tools that are connected to our KIT telehealth platforms. Learn more on how our KITMed decision support module is supporting cardiologist in their daily life.
