Against the background of the great uncertainty about the possible effects of Industry 4.0 on employment, this study examines for the first time in Austria how employment could develop until 2030 with regard to employment status, qualification requirements and job profiles. On the basis of four scenarios for the possible development of Industry 4.0, strategies and approaches were defined together with more than 100 experts and stakeholders, which make a successful transformation to Industry 4.0 possible.
