Capturing Experience

We strive towards the enhanced experience-oriented understanding of complex industrial application contexts.

This will result in specific experience needs, specific user viewpoints and in particular contextual phenomena which need specific solutions. Capturing means uncovering solution potentials based on deep empirical and scientific considerations. Understanding appropriate patterns of behavior and its implications will lead to advanced user and costumer oriented technological as well as interface solutions. Specific user viewpoints also include a strong individual perspective, which follows a strong trend of personalization and adaption.

Research on Capturing Experience includes the development and exploitation of specific situational methodologies & tools to analyze and evaluate new approaches in context (“research in the wild” has been used in the field as specific notion to study complex and highly dynamic situations).

Further we will strongly investigate upcoming contextual technologies (e.g. a variety of sensors or Internet of Things-technologies in general) both from the perspective of experience (e.g. how people feel being connected and optimize user acceptance) as well as from the perspective of experience data acquisition (what are the key ingredients of experience).

Further we enhance the possibilities to run higher scale and longer term field trials and realize contextual setups towards the highest level of experience study impact. Learning from real, complex and over time setups is a cornerstone to validate new technology enabled business and service approaches.
