Unfallursachenforschung schwerverletzter und getöteter Kinder im Straßenverkehr

(VSF, bmvit)

ANSWERS is dealing with in-depth accident analyses of crashes where children (0 to 14 years) were severely or fatally injured are investigated to identify dangerous and risky situations and spots in the road network. Based on the findings relevant road infrastructure and safety guidelines (e.g. Austrian RVS) as well as roadplanning standards will be reviewed, optimized and updated. Recommendations to increase child safety in road transport are the major goal of this project. Typical crash causes will be transferred into safety checklists to improve safety inspections of school environment and ways to schools. Another aim is the evaluation of infrastructure measures for short term safety improvements.

This project is funded by theAustrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology under the Austrian Traffic Safety Funds (ÖsterreichischerVerkehrssicherheitsfondsVSF).
