This project investigates new avenues for Li and Na batteries that address the challenges facing a new generation of high performance energy storage. In particular, it involves improved (i) high capacity nano-composite alloy anodes, (ii) high-voltage cathodes, (iii) multifunctional binders and (iv) enhanced solid and liquid electrolytes. AIT’s contribution to this ambitious project led by TU Graz is the development of a 5V intercalation cathode material compatible with the other components.
