The challenges in the implementation of AI technologies, for example in the areas of data protection, connectivity and cyber security, are particularly emphasized. At the same time, possible new security gaps that could arise through the use of AI are identified - and solutions for the governance of AI systems are presented.
The publication was written by Donald Dudenhoeffer, Research Engineer at the AIT in the Center for Digital Safety & Security and cyber security expert with over 35 years of experience in the nuclear sector, in collaboration with other internationally recognized experts.
The publication also marks the first milestone in a new strategic collaboration between the AIT and the VCDNP. In a joint foreword, Helmut Leopold, Head of Center for Digital Safety & Security at AIT, and Elena K. Sokova, Executive Director of VCDNP, emphasize the central importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in order to use the potential of AI responsibly and safely in the nuclear sector.
