Put on your headset and off you go. FWSafeXR offers virtual training for everyone working in forestry – for greater safety and as a supplement to traditional training methods. Under the leadership of AIT and with the partners Forestry Training Centre (FAST) Traunkirchen and Ossiach of the Federal Research Centre for Forests (BFW), with Arbeiter Samariterbund Österreich, Red Cross Upper Austria and Mindconsole and on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management (BML) via dafne.at (database for research on sustainable development), a training prototype has been developed to help improve occupational safety in the forest and prevent forest accidents.
Three specific modules were developed:
1) Preparatory measures before working in the forest
2) Safety-relevant aspects of tree felling (incl. securing the terrain)
3) Requesting and briefing a rescue helicopter
In addition to the AIT tent, there are many exciting stations for action, games and fun on the subject of forests. Participation is free of charge!
