How a European recycling battery is to succeed in three years' time

17.06.2024
STREAMS project: Damian Cupid in an interview with the "Standard"

"Our aim is to make the processes and technologies sustainable and to keep the precursor materials for battery material production as pure as possible - in the sense that they can be reintegrated into a battery," reports AIT battery researcher Damian Cupid on the STREAMS research project. The project, which is funded as part of HORIZON EUROPE and led by the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, aims to strengthen the European supply chain by developing flexible and scalable technologies, reduce dependence on imported raw materials and promote circular economy approaches in battery production. STREAMS pays particular attention to the sustainable production of anode and cathode active materials in order to increase Europe's strategic autonomy and competitiveness.

"Der Standard" has now spoken to Damian Cupid (in German):

By the way: The AIT battery experts will be presenting current research topics and projects (such as STREAMS) at the Battery Show in Stuttgart from tomorrow: Hall H8, Stand 8-C47. We look forward to your visit!
