International workshop on spectral radiation measurement for photovoltaics

17.12.2019
Experts from Singapore and eight European countries met at the Center for Energy for a professional exchange

In photovoltaics, the harmonization and standardization of spectral solar radiation measurement is becoming increasingly important. After all, the increased demands on measurement performance of new photovoltaic technologies as well as quality assurance and yield forecasts of photovoltaic power plants require more precise calibration and improved measurement routines.

To promote international exchange, the experts Marcus Rennhofer, Senior Scientist, and Ankit Mittal, Junior Engineer (both at the Center for Energy, Photovoltaic Systems) from November 28. - 29.11 2019 organized the eighth international expert workshop on spectral radiation measurement for photovoltaics at the AIT in Vienna. The workshop covered intensive discussions about the ISRC 2019 summer measurement campaign (International Spectroradiometer and Broad Band Intercomaprison Campaign 2019, organized by ESIT / JRC) as well as planning of joint future activities and projects.

The pre- event took place on November 28th at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences Vienna where the meteorological measurement platform was visited.
