This year the AAL community came together on the 24th – 26th of September in the city of Bilbao, Spain, to present the latest developments and to discuss future ideas and strategies for the market adoption of AAL solutions. The annual AAL Forum is the largest European networking event that provides a platform for discussing innovative technological products and services for active and healthy ageing.

As one of the leading Austrian and European organizations in the field of Active and Healthy Ageing, experts of the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology (Center for Health & Bioresources and Center for Technology Experience) presented some of their current projects at a booth in the exhibition area.

Furthermore, Markus Garschall was invited to join a panel of experts at the Workshop “The job market of AAL: Which candidates are we looking for”, to discuss the requirements of the ‘job market’ of AAL and aiming to define and extend a qualifications list for future AAL job applications. The ongoing AIT project Memento was presented at a workshop (Memento Project Business Pitch) and at a poster session and finally, AIT was also co-hosting a booth for the ACROSSING project (AIT Marie Curie Project) where the work of PhD’s (Deepika Singh and Erinc Merdivan from AIT) in the area of AAL and Smart Living was presented.
