The results of the EU-project CI-NERGY were presented by PhD candidates and PostDocs. A competent audience took part in the discussion of results and future research potentials.

The EU funded graduate Program aims to train young scientists to develop software tools for future city planning. The results of this international research project were presented on 24 February in the TU Wien.

Over the last three years eleven PhD candidates and three PostDocs developed innovative planning tools for sustainable urban energy concepts.

Interdisciplinary training

The project is a Marie Curie Initial Training Network in the FP7 of the European Commission. As such, it aims to provide high level training to young researchers in the field of smart cities, with the goal to develop urban decision making and operational optimization software tools to minimize non-renewable energy use in cities. Spatial planners and urban administration can use the software tools for an economic and sustainable restructuring of the city. The project span covers topics like integrated energy planning or the development of a 3D urban energy and network model.
