As of today, DI Manfred Haider assumes the position of Head of the Transportation Infrastructure Technologies Business Unit at the AIT Mobility Department.
In this function, Mr. Manfred Haider will succeed Mr. Peter Maurer, who suddenly passed away in November last year.
Mr. Manfred Haider has been working for AIT Austrian Institute of Technology since 2002 and is a Thematic Coordinator in the Transportation Infrastructure Technologies Business Unit at the AIT Mobility Department. As Chairman of the research coordinators of the Forum of European Highway Research Laboratories (FEHRL) he maintains excellent international relations. His research activities include tire/road interactions, the performance of noise abatement systems and the characteristics of road surfaces and tires.
As an internationally recognized expert, Mr. Manfred Haider has led and still leads the European projects TYROSAFE, MIRAVEC and ROSANNE. He was also engaged in further projects as a work package leader and has led many national research projects. Manfred Haider is a member of several national and international associations on road infrastructure, transport acoustics and pavement properties.
