Scientific excellence and integrity
Success in scientific careers requires understanding and adherence to scientific integrity and good scientific practice. To this end our PhD students benefit from excellent training opportunities. Awareness and training in the field of scientific integrity is offered together with the ÖAWI, the Austrian Agency for scientific integrity.
Presentation techniques
Trainings for presentation techniques for scientific presentations, especially scientific pitches and talks at conferences as well as poster presentation techniques.
Entrepreneurial skills
PhD students are encouraged to participate in AIT’s unique annual poster award competition. This event runs from January through May every year and provides young scientists with an opportunity to present their research projects with a focus on commercial exploitation opportunities. Participants take part in workshops/seminars aimed at developing presentation skills for entrepreneurial pitches and commercialization of research projects as well as the opportunity to raise the profile of their own research projects.
Career counselling
After competition of the PhD, students need to decide about the next steps in their career. We provide career counselling workshops and application trainings and provide career insights and inspiration by engagement with AIT colleagues and mentors.
