Giefinggasse 4, 1210 Vienna

Field: Data Science

Main Research: Scientific computing, quantum information, High Performance Computing

My current research interest focuses on algorithms inspired by concepts from quantum Information. Using this approach I have developed signal-processing algorithms for an interference-location system for communication satellites.
Previously I worked in High Performance Computing, focusing primarily on distributed-memory, message-passing systems, and I contributed to standardization in the field through my participation in the design of the MPI Message Passing Interface standard. While at the University of Vienna I worked on message-passing software for a range of scientific and commercial applications including satellite signal processing, video indexing, simulation of charged particle optics, and simulation of quantum computers.
My PhD studies at the University of Manchester were in the area of experimental high energy particle physics, and I was a member of the JADE collaboration at DESY in Hamburg.
