Topology and Structure Optimisation
The main purpose of lightweight construction is to minimise the weight of components or groups of components while taking account of all relevant parameters. Topology optimisation allows the construction process to be sustainably supported. It is a design tool for use at the design phase of a new component.
Based on the maximum available space and the given constraints, this method determines the material distribution for optimum weight distribution in the design. AIT also uses the TOSCA and OptiStruct software programs.
