The continuous recording of a building’s electricity and heat consumption provides the basis for energy-efficient operation. The Department develops sophisticated monitoring concepts for both conventional and ultra-low energy or energy-plus buildings. All relevant data about indoor climate and HVAC system performance are collected in a comprehensive database for subsequent analysis. The results are fed into thermal simulations in order to predict the energy behaviour of the building under different operating conditions.
