2nd HyRiM End Users International Workshop

Nov 15
Novel Approaches to Risk and Security Management for Utility Providers and Critical Infrastructures

The HyRiM project covers different topics in connection with utility providers and utility networks in general, specifically in the areas of smart grids, oil refining and water supply infrastructures. A major focus is laid on the identification and assessment of cascading effects as well as the assessment and mitigation of (cyber-) attacks in utility networks.

The 2nd HyRiM End Users International Workshop is organized in the context of the European Utility Week, which takes place from 15th to 17th of November in Barcelona, Spain. In this workshop, new methodologies, concepts and tools towards the security and risk assessment for utility providers will be presented. These approaches have been developed in the course of current research activities of the European Union FP7 project HyRiM – Hybrid Risk Management for Utiltiy Networks, coordinated by AIT Austrian Institute of Technology.

Experts from the field of security and risk management as well as representatives of utility providers will cover research results, novel approaches and tools currently under development in the HyRiM project. The international speakers are coming from ETRA (Spain), the Electrical Cooperative of Alginet (Spain), Akhela (Italy), Lancaster University (UK) and from the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology (Austria).
